City Museum 07/21/2014

City Museum is one of the most wackiest unique places in the country. I found out about this place after seeing Theme Park Review’s Midwest 2013 tour visit there. After I saw their posts I had to go check it out. It’s not necessarily an amusement park and there’s no roller coasters but there is plenty of fun stuff to do for kids and adults. Definitely an adventure and one not to be missed if you’re in St. Louis.

City Museum!
City Museum! Is that a school bus on the roof? haha

The cool thing about City Museum is that they're always building. Appears they're working on something new here.

City Museum is all about recycling old stuff from throughout the city and making new use of it. Plus it’s not expensive at all, $12 for normal admission plus $5 for the rooftop.

Head the warnings! Also don’t wear flip flops like Holly did. πŸ˜›
Artsy shot. :P

If climbing isn’t your forte there’s stairs out here to take as well. But where’s the fun in that?
Ferris Wheel on the roof?!?!?

Time to slide down!
Time to slide down!

This place has a ton of slides all over if you haven’t caught on to that already. Some are a lot of fun while others have too much friction going down them. Either way it’s pretty neat to be able to slide down all kinds of different slides and feel like a kid again.

What’s this?!?! Another cake?
This cake is way cooler than the one at Six Flags, it's actually unique to the City Museum with the bus and praying mantis. Wonder why the one at Six Flags didn't have any roller coasters on it? Wonder if we'll spot any more cakes? Hmm.....

See how I talk about them recycling old stuff. Here's a bunch of metal pans that are normally found in restaurant kitchens. Here they make a wall.

It was pretty hot out there on the rooftop so time to cool off with some grape Crush, TMNT style.

One final look up at City Museum before venturing on for the day.

Β City Museum may not be an amusement park but I’d be willing to say that it may be more fun than some amusement parks out there. There’s fun for adults and kids and the place gives you the freedom to just explore. No maps are provided just feel free to explore. The other cool thing is how they’re always adding/building something new, so if you visit in multiple years I’m sure you’ll find something new you haven’t seen before. If you’re ever in St. Louis make sure to stop at the City Museum, you won’t want to miss it!

Special thanks to John Roberts and Holly Finley for some of the photos they contributed to this post.
